Baptism (Christening) at St Peter's
Baptism (also known as Christening) marks the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of our lives, it is a first step in response to God’s love. For all involved, particularly the candidates but also parents, godparents and sponsors, it is a joyful moment when we rejoice in what God has done for us in Jesus, make serious promises, declare our faith in God, and pray for the newly baptised and their loved ones.
You can be baptised at any age, though many of our baptism candidates are young children who are brought for a Christening by their parents.
Baptisms at St Peter's generally take place at 2.30pm on Sundays, usually on the 2nd & 4th Sunday each month. We also sometimes have baptisms in our 10.30am Morning Service, particularly if the candidate is already part of the Church family.
